our forward story
For decades, one faithful family prayed that God would bless this town with another church to glorify His name and strengthen what He was already doing here. In His perfect timing, God placed that same calling in the hearts of our lead pastors—originally from Germany, then led to Switzerland, from there to Colorado in the United States, and finally to Wisconsin. It has been a long and beautiful journey, but every step has been guided by God as He prepared and called our pastors to answer that prayer.
In September 2025, Forward Church held its first Vision Night in Siren. Just one month later, two dedicated families gathered in a home with one desire: to plant a church that would reach their community and beyond with the good news of Jesus Christ. We are still in the early stages of this church plant, taking steady steps forward as we follow what God is doing in our midst.
The heartbeat of Forward Church is…
Creating environments where people feel welcomed, loved, and engaged. We want Forward Church to feel like home—whether you’ve been in church your whole life or are exploring faith for the first time. Through small groups and intentional relationships, we create space for people to grow together, support one another, and walk out their faith in community.
Stepping into the needs of our community and beyond. Our desire is to serve our neighbors, support mission partners, and boldly live out the Great Commission—here and around the world.
Equipping the next generation of leaders.Through discipleship, training, and hands-on ministry opportunities, our desire is to raise up leaders who will plant churches, start ministries, and carry the Gospel into places we may never go ourselves.
Forward Church is part of the River Valley Fellowship of Ministries (RVFM), a network focused on the development, support, and care of ministers and ministries.
meet our pastors
Johann Nachtigall is the Lead Pastor of Forward Church, and his ministry is strengthened by the faithful partnership of his wife, who serves alongside him. Together, they have followed God’s call across nations to invest in people, build community, and share the hope of Jesus Christ. Both graduated from Bible College in Colorado, where God confirmed His calling on their lives and prepared them for pastoral ministry.
In addition to their pastoral responsibilities, their greatest privilege is raising their children and creating a home that reflects the love of Christ. They have one son and are excited to welcome a daughter soon.

What we believe
Forward Church affirms the Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed as faithful expressions of the historic Christian faith shared by believers throughout the centuries. In these creeds, the word “catholic” is understood in its original sense, meaning “universal” — referring to the worldwide Church of Jesus Christ, made up of all true believers everywhere.
This Confession of Faith is written in a modern, clear style to guide our teaching, discipleship, and worship, while remaining faithful to the historic truths of Scripture.
